Above Suspicion

She crosses the floor at right angles. Sizing him up with every smile.
He’s got his wits (She’s got those eyes). The only keys to their disguise.

Sometimes he wonders who she stays in shape for.
But when he asks, she turns him down.
Their lives are like a serial episode - Churning forward, spinning around.

‘Cos they’re above suspicion. They’re above suspicion.
They’re above suspicion, escaping their conviction.

They’re playing the game of a lifetime
But danger stands at every turn
He sees a chance (She takes his hand)
Identities must not be learned.

They watch the shadows move from side to side, as tension screams into the night.
The clock is counting out the seconds now, but they don’t feel they have to hide.

‘Cos they’re above suspicion. They’re above suspicion.
They’re above suspicion, escaping their conviction.

Well suddenly he looks over at her at thinks, “Gosh, how can I trust her? We just met!”
And she’s looking at him and thinking the very same thing!
But they know one thing – (“What?”) - They like each other.
And as long as they play their cards right, no one will ever find out!

‘Cos they’re above suspicion. They’re above suspicion.
They’re above suspicion, escaping their conviction.
